Rocky Ledge Swimming
Association is located just minutes five from downtown White Plains,
on Old Orchard Street (Reservoir Road) just a mile or so up from the Stop & Shop
Supermarket in North White Plains.
Rocky Ledge is a cooperative owned by its member families. It consists of
eight acres in a beautiful wooded site, where you can always enjoy a cool
breeze. The Club was formed in 1962 with the purchase of the property and the
installation of the pool. For 40 years, Rocky Ledge has been a summer way of
life for families, seniors, and singles who enjoy spending time outdoors in a
secure, beautiful, wooded setting, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday.
The mainstay of the Club is our magnificent 343,000 gallon, completely
fenced, pool consisting of three distinct swim areas: a three to four foot
section, a five to six foot section with lap lanes, and a twelve foot section.
There are two slides into the crystal clear water for children (and adults) to
enjoy. There is also a large, separate fenced baby pool that graduates from six
inches to one foot in depth.
In addition to the pool, the Club facilities offers a snack bar with hot
foods, basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, ping pong tables, playground, ball
field, wooded picnic areas with tables, a covered pavilion, private showers and
changing rooms, and plenty of summer fun and sun.
During the summer, the Club sponsors a Swim Team that competes in the
Westchester County Divisional Program. The Swim Team is designed to provide
guidance, instruction, competition and fun, for children up to 17 years of age.
Additionally, there are many activities during the summer months that offer
wholesome, fun activities. Here’s just a small sample: Baseball, volleyball and
horseshow competitions; arts & crafts; Bingo nights; Pre-teen parties; teen
parties; and the every popular family nights that offer a chance for adults and
children to kick back and relax - dance to live music with The Wanderers, enjoy
the exciting music of DJ Sound Express and swim under the stars.
Lastly, Rocky Ledge offers all of this in a location that is literally five
minutes from downtown White Plains, making it user friendly without the hassle
of traffic jams to the beach, or overcrowded county facilities.
